The Core Affect Space Model of Emotions

Presented by Karolina Westlund

Animals’ moods and emotional states impact their perception, physiology, and behaviour. In this webinar, I will discuss the Core Affect Space model of emotions and how it may be useful to pet guardians and animal professionals.

A full understanding of emotions can help us develop better relationships to our animals, reduce stress and improve their welfare.

Learning Objectives

     -    What is the Core Affect Space

-    Assessing mood states

-    How moods affect behaviour

-    How “problem behaviours” manifest in the Core Affect Space

-    Changing mood states using SEEKING, PLAY and CARE core emotional systems
