My Bio
Hello, I’m Camille, the owner and dog behaviourist behind Trail Sniffers Dog Behaviour & Training, specialising in reactivity, fear and anxiety-related behaviours. I have dedicated my professional life to supporting dogs and their guardians, with a particular passion for helping dogs who experience big feelings about the world around them. My work focuses on looking beyond the behaviour we see and understanding the individual dog their emotional experience, environment, learning history and needs. I believe that supporting behaviour isn’t simply about stopping something we find undesirable. It’s about understanding "why" the behaviour is occurring and giving both the dog and their guardian the skills, support and practical strategies they need to navigate life together. Education and advocacy are a huge part of what I do. My goal is to empower guardians with the knowledge and confidence to understand their dog's communication, recognise and meet their individual needs, advocate for them when necessary, and build a relationship based on trust and mutual understanding. I am particularly passionate about working with reactivity-based behaviours and helping guardians move away from seeing their dog as a problem that needs to be fixed. Instead, I help them understand what their dog may be communicating and how we can support them in ways that prioritise their emotional and physical wellbeing. My approach is humane, reward-based and grounded in current behavioural science and evidence. I am committed to force-free training that prioritises welfare, choice and safety while nurturing positive and respectful relationships between dogs and the people who share their lives with them. Through Trail Sniffers, I offer behaviour and training support both in person and virtually, working with dogs and their guardians across Australia.
